About the drawings:
I made these charcoal drawings because I think the darkest parts of myself and others can be hard to define, but you’ll be surprised how much kindredness there can be in those shadows. The recognition can help us feel a little less alone, a little less engulfed by it all. And it can apply to any quality, seeing something quirky or fun that you recognise in a fellow human is a beautiful and intrinsic part of our connections with each other.
And to speak to the despair I feel about the disparity in our world, it’s a reminder that we’re all pretty much the same on the inside, no matter our colour, creed, or anything else. We aren’t free until we’re all free ✨
